Where roots grow deep and flowers bloom with hope.

Our story.

It all began with a dream…

Blessings Farm is a lavender and cut flower farm in Smithsburg, Maryland. We purchased our 1800s farm in 2022 and have been slowly restoring the farm and bringing it back to life.

The spring and summer seasons bring flowers to the farm beginning with tulips and zinnias and then ending with dahlias. Flowers are carefully selected and then arranged into bouquets for purchase.

We make personal care items including goat milk lotion, whipped tallow body butters and other items. Recently we have added wood creations such as stools, benches, wooden trees, etc.

On December 29, 2025, another story began to unfold when our 1800s bank barn (85x30) collapsed during the night after two days of significant winds reaching 69-71 mph.  With tears and broken hearts we stood and grieved for dreams that collapsed with the barn. As we began to pull apart the debris left behind, we found items that should have been crushed to pieces yet they were spared. Old greenhouse windows that were stored on the upper floor had fallen to the basement.  Five of the fifty were not crushed. A wicker chair, which we called a prayer chair, was holding a large beam and not crushed. The end wall of the barn had fallen and landed against the Lavender Building yet the building was not damaged. The wood curved around the building and frayed. The window trim was nicked and the window screen was scratched yet the window was not broken. The barn collapsed inward and then down onto the field landing within 6 feet of the Lavender field. It fell and did not hit the utility lines and it fell forward away from the bank side and did not hit the trucks parked on that side of the barn. We still stand in awe at “seeing” and knowing whose hands laid the barn down with care.

On clean up days, the wood was collected and sorted into salvage piles. Our hope one day is to reuse most of the wood into the build of a new barn. Even though the old barn is no longer standing, its history will still “live on” within the walls of a “new barn with his-story”.

Our farm is more than flowers, lavender, products, and Christmas lights. All of those are just leading the way to the bigger purposes and plans that are on our hearts and engrained in our souls. Blessings upon blessings.

Its purpose is to connect with our community and to give back. With every product and creation we sell, it puts us one step closer to serving that purpose.

Come along with us on this journey!
